     本片改编自葛蕾熙达·柯维尔（Cressida Cowell）的同名儿童图书。

     故事的主人翁是一个叫小嗝嗝的维京少年，他住在博克岛，对抗巨龙是家常便饭的事。这个少年的思想很前进，他另类的幽默感也不能讨好他的村落的村民和大家长……正好也是小嗝嗝的老爸大块头史图依克。当小嗝嗝被迫和其他的维京青少年——亚丝翠、鼻涕粗、鱼脚司，以及双胞胎暴芙那特和悍夫那特─参加屠龙训练营，他就觉得这是他证明自己是个驯龙高手的好机会。但是当他遇到并结交了一只受伤的龙，他的人生就完全改变，而原本是小嗝嗝证明自己的机会，却成为改变整个部落的未来的机会。片中另外一个重要角色是戈伯，他是村落的铁匠和驯龙训练营教官，只有他看出小嗝嗝的的潜力。

　　  一个住在博克岛的维京少年“小嗝嗝”，他必须通过驯龙测验，才能正式成为维京勇士。驯龙测验即将到来，小嗝嗝必须把握这唯一的机会，向族人和他爸爸证明他存在的价值。但是，当小嗝嗝遇见一只受伤的龙，并且和这只龙成为朋友之后，小嗝嗝的世界将从此彻底改变。。。。

6. .Long ago up North on the Island of Berk, the young Viking, Hiccup, wants to join his town‘s fight against the dragons that continually raid their town. However, his macho father and village leader, Stoik the Vast, will not allow his small, clumsy, but inventive son to do so. Regardless, Hiccup ventures out into battle and downs a mysterious Night Fury dragon with his invention, but can‘t bring himself to kill it. Instead, Hiccup and the dragon, whom he dubs Toothless, begin a friendship that would open up both their worlds as the observant boy learns that his people have misjudged the species.
